If you’re around Tobermory/lions head area make sure to check this amazing place out. The lady there is kind and sweet and the food and service was excellent. We tired fresh Georgian bay white fish and chips, Cape Town veggie Curry and Lion’s Head Smoked Brisket Beef Dip. Everything was mouthwatering and tasty.
Very nice, small, and intimate restaurant. There was only one server, which was difficult for her, but she was wonderful. This was not fast food. There was obvious pride in the quality of the food and thoughtfulness in the drink menu. There was no defined kids menu, but they did have chicken fingers and fries. We had the piri piri shrimp appetizer and it was delicious, but very spicy . We had a great meal and enjoyed the atmosphere. We would definitely return when we are in the area next.
Lovely atmosphere, clean, & tasteful piano music. Food was absolutely excellent! 5-star food quality!! We had the Butter Chicken & Rice Bowl, House Salad Shrimp, & Chicken Naanwich. Everything was perfectly plated & so delicious. Would highly recommend!! 10/10!! Just be sure to plan time for a liesurely meal & a bit of a wait for your food. Everything is clearly made from scratch, fresh to order, but HIGHLY worth the wait!!
We had a cozy, comforting and very enjoyable experience at The Taste Kitchen. The Taste Kitchen is a small but quality family owned restaurant at the heart of Lions Head. Their theme is comfort food and have a very eclectic and diverse menu that covers anything from fresh fish and chips to tasty veggie curry, and smoked brisket to paninis. We arrived at The Taste Kitchen a couple of minutes after their last call on a cold autumn night but they still took us in. We were grateful. It was the perfect spot to finish off our day trip at the Lions Head. My wife and I had their daily soup (potato corn chowder), Greek salad, main Street burger, Mozza Pesto Chicken burger and chicken fingers. All the dishes were exceptional but the soup was the clear star of the night. The stock was rich in flavor and the ingredients were fresh. It's clear that the owner put a lot of heart and time in perfecting the soup. The burgers were amazing as well. For the main St burger, they seasoned their 6oz beef patty with this unique south African spice which brings out the umami of the beef; the combination of the cheese, beef, bacon and the house sauce makes the burger to die for. My wife really enjoyed the Mozza Pesto Chicken burger as well. You can tell the chicken patty was freshly grounded in house which is rare. The meal was superb. To top off the experience. The owner was extremely attentive to us and was really curious to hear our feedback and verdict on the dishes. This attention really made our dining experience special. I am a pretty tough critic when it comes to food and I rarely leave reviews. Net-net, The Taste Kitchen is a solid five out of five. This is a special place my wife and I will visit again on our next trip and definitely recommend friends and family in a true Michelin fashion (worth a detour for). We wish the owner best of luck and keep up the great work!
Had the veggie burger at the place, easily amongst one of the best, i had of late. The veggie patty was truly awesome. Kudos to the chef for the efforts. Above all the place had cheerful, lively atmosphere with live music. If you’re a veggie burger enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meat-free option, I highly recommend giving Taste Kitchen’s veggie burger a try. You won’t be disappointed!
The Taste Kitchen is a wonderful place in Lion’s Head. The food is delicious and tastes very fresh. The fish and chips was fantastic although a little small. The Quesadilla was great too. Fresh ingredients and the salsa was amazing. The waitress/host was very friendly! Would highly recommend this place.
A very nice place to stop for a bite to eat. Very clean environment, friendly staff and the menu had a fantastic selection. My wife and daughter had the Mediterranean dish and they thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the waiter surprise me with a dish and he selected the brisket sandwich which was absolutely delicious. Side of crispy seasoned fries.
Another amazing evening at the Taste Kitchen in Lion's Head Ontario. This time with our children . They had the poutine. One had the pulled pork and the other had the brisket. My husband had the Pad Thai again. Loved it as much as he did last trip up. I had the Big Kahuna burger. Everything was hot and freshly made. The fries were the best we ever had. Service was very friendly and professional. You can feel the love and care that is given to every detail. As my 12 yr old said... his life is now complete! Can't wait to go back for our anniversary next week. May even sneak in an extra visit for their fish and chips. Reservation are strongly recommended!
